Amazing Kandalaksha: Four seasons of beauty.

The Kola Peninsula is a classic of the Arctic! Tundra and the harsh Barents Sea in the north, the rocky masses of the Khibiny in the center, necklaces of lakes framed by fir trees on the southern border with Karelia. But there is a place on the Kola Peninsula where all this comes together, where the northern taiga surrounds the mountain tundra on the hills, and the rocks on the peaks send greetings to the islands on the White Sea. Amazing Kandalaksha!

Northern nature is beautiful at any time of the year.

Short visits of the sun at the top of winter paint the sky and endless snow in incredible pink and purple colors.

Spring is a contrast of white and green, it is the reflection of white snow in mirror water and seals basking on ice floes.

Autumn is a riot of tundra colors, a carpet of berries and an abundance of mushrooms.

We invite you to summer, when all living things are in a hurry to blossom and grow, and fish come to the rivers to spawn. This is the time for excursions to picturesque rocks and endless fields of blooming tundra. This is the time for sea fishing and boat trips on SUP boards among the White Sea islands and endless lakes. This is the time to learn the history of the Tersky coast and look for amethysts in old mines.

Luvenga is one of the oldest settlements on the Kandalaksha coast. Here you will find our tourist shelter - a house in the style of a northern chalet: a guest floor with rooms for 1 or 2 people, a cozy living room with a fireplace (it can be cool in the north in the summer!), a veranda overlooking the green sea of forest and the rising slopes of the hills.

Our special offer for participants of the summer school “Complex system and future technologies in neuroscience” is a three-day all-inclusive tour: meeting in Kandalaksha, accommodation in Luvenga, three meals a day (local dishes, the freshest fish, including wild salmon), excursions and boat trips, a one-day trip to the Tersky coast and picnics and snacks in the fresh air.

The number of places on the "All inclusive" system (professor grade) is up to 7. Budget places for young researchers (with camping accommodation) - up to 5.

How to get to Kandalaksha from St. Petersburg: We recommend traveling by train. The two-story train St. Petersburg - Murmansk departs from Ladozhsky station at 21-25 and arrives in Kandalaksha at 16-15. At the end of the tour, you can return to St. Petersburg the same way, or head to Murmansk, to fly out of there by plane.
